what to bring to a potluck?

I was attending monthly parties a while back with a potluck type of theme and though I can cook non-bear food easily enough, that leaves the conundrum of what to do with leftovers.

A handful of times, I made ordinary bear cooked meals, like soups, but then had to haul my Instant Pot, which is awkward and annoying, and involves crawling under a table to plug it in, so I went to tray type appetizer stuff to make my life simpler.

Basically, some sliced summer sausage and cheese, but also sliced cucumbers with onion dip.

This has actually become popular, one young girl exclaims with delight every time she sees the cucumbers!

It’s a weird thing when there’s all sorts of junk food and desserts to have someone exclaim, “CUCUMBERS!”

It warms a mother’s heart to see a young person excited about vegetables. 😉

The only recipe involved is making the onion dip, which is pretty darned easy the day of. It’s just mixing sour cream with the “onion soup mix.”
